Mice
In today’s culture, animals are looked down upon and subject to
the game of life we play. One animal that is scrutinized immensely is rodents.
Mice are used daily for cruel tests in the laboratories. We inject bacterium
and viruses into their bodies to see if they are capable of living while
infected. It is a terrible thing to do to one of God’s creatures. Although
these procedures are cruel, medical labs have made huge breakthroughs because
of the mice being experimented on. Scientists have discovered how to kill a
virus, how to slow cancer, and the effects of medicines through
mice.
Mice are represented as pests, varmint, and a nuisance to all of use
trying to live our everyday lives. Being called a mouse is a demining thing, it
refers to someone being lesser than a person or having unwanted qualities. When
one is being experimented on unfairly they are called a lab rat, which refers to
the suffering that one is being put through. The only animals people actually
care about are the “cute” and “fuzzy” ones, but not the ugly and ferocious.
They are thought of as sexually reproductive, street dwelling creatures. They are
frowned upon as the animals that live from the garbage, carry disease, and need
to be wiped away from this earth. We set traps in our homes to kill these foul
beasts, however inhumane it might be. If they are not in a laboratory being
experimented on one will never say “Thank god we have plenty of mice.” Mice are
cancerous; they spread throughout the world and start sicknesses. Women are
afraid of them, men despise them and they are tortured in the grand scheme of
life. Ultimately, they are an essential link on the food chain for many animals
and we need them for live testing to insure the safety of our
products.
